It’s hard to believe that another year has almost come and gone at The Waters. Overall, it’s been a really good year, and we’re very thankful we can say that! As we get close to Thanksgiving, as always, we are counting our many blessings and reflecting on all that’s happened throughout 2021.
Here are some of the highlights!
What We Are Thankful for at The Waters
The market has been strong for new home sales, and we had a record number of custom home builds begin this year! While there are probably many reasons for this, we think it’s in large part because people are realizing how important a functional home is. This is true all the time, but when we’ve all experienced being “stuck” at home for a few months (Thanks, Covid), it becomes even more important. We should all love where we live and love being in our homes, as well as outside on our porches and in our gardens.
We have the absolute best community at The Waters. Despite the challenges of the ongoing pandemic, our community is strong. Our neighbors continue to get outside of their lot lines and create fun events. They continue to support our local Town Center businesses. Our smaller neighborhood events have also continued like the 4th of July golf cart parade, The Waters Pumpkin Patch, and we are excited that Santa at The Square is coming up in December.
New Restaurant — NYC Gyro
We have a new new restaurant – NYC Gyro – in our Town Square that opened around the beginning of November, and the neighborhood support has already been amazing! It’s so nice to have this option where neighbors can gather in person for meals and conversation or get take-out.
All of Our Town Center Businesses
NYC is just the newest addition to the Waters Town Center. We already have some amazing places, such as a coffee shop, child care center, gym, dental office, and more. Find information about our specific shops and businesses here.
We feel like we say this all the time, but the many benefits and advantages of our green space at The Waters just can’t be overstated. We have acres of natural areas, beautifully landscaped parks, and miles of lakeshore. All of this green space lends itself to so many outdoor activities, whether it’s having a picnic in a wide open lawn area of a park, playing on a playground, relaxing in a hammock, cruising around in a golf cart to take in the scenery, and so much more.
There are many spots all throughout the neighborhood where you can catch a gorgeous view of the sunset. Seeing the sun setting over the water is particularly impressive. We have seven lake piers throughout The Waters, and they all make excellent viewing spots for sunsets.
What’s Next in 2022?
We are hoping for many great things, and we know there’s a lot in store in terms of neighborhood events and a growing community. In 2022 we are looking forward to Dawson Creek Phase III! Upon final plat, 73 new lots will be released, and 20 are already under contract.
We hope everyone ends 2021 on a high note. We’re going out with a bang at The Waters, and we wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving!
