Today is International Walk to School Day, a global event that involves communities from more than 40 countries walking and biking to school on the same day. It began in 1997 as a one-day event. Over time, this event has become part of a movement for year-round safe routes to school and a celebration – with record breaking participation – each October.

At The Waters, our residents have the privilege of walking, biking, or golf carting to school EVERY day via the Trail to Education that leads to the Pike Road School. The new trail has become a wonderful addition to The Waters neighborhood and has proven to be a great spot for neighbors to meet and catch up.  Check out our Flickr album to see some of the great shots we’ve collected since the trail opened this August.
