Pike Road in the Process of Selecting and Training 10 Candidates for School Board, Leadership Council

PIKE ROAD, Alabama – The Pike Road school system is in the process of selecting candidates to serve on the school board this summer as well as the Pike Road Educational Leadership Counal, according to the release from the town of Pike Road.
The report says the town has narrowed the 10 candidates from applications received dunng the fall of last year, who will begin leadership !raining later this month.
All applications were reviewed by the town counal and the Pike Road Education Leadership Council, headed by former state superintendent of education, Dr Ed Richardson.
Or Suzanne Freeman, an education consultant and former superintendent of the TrusSVille City Schools, will lead the training, which will cover the statutory dubes of local school board members and various responsibilities of civic leaders.

The Pike Road school system was established in December 2010. Separation negotiations with the Montgomery Public Schools are on-going at this time. Ground-breaking for the initial school building will take place in the fall with classes beginning in 2015.
