Presented by the Pike Road Arts Council
The Alabama Plein Air Artists (APAA) will converge on the Town of Pike Road October 25 and 26 to paint locations and landscapes of local and historical significance, and many will offer their works for sale at the conclusion of of the event. Art enthusiasts are welcome to visit the artists in the field as they work and at the following events, all open to the public.
Friday, October 25
9:00 to 10:30 a.m.-Meet & Greet with the artists at the pavilion at The Waters.
Get to know the artists who will be painting around town over the weekend and find out where they’ll be painting.
1:45 to 4:00 p.m.-“Quick draw” paint out at The Waters.
Watch as artists complete a one-cf-a-kind piece cf art in j/Jst two hours.
Noon until-Artists paint in various locations in the Pike Road area.
Watch for the bright yellow ‘Paint Spot’ signs to know where to look for artists at work.
Saturday, October 26
9:00 a.m. to Noon-Kids’ Paint Out and wpcake Reception at The Waters
Children are invited to learn basic watercolor painting techniques from local artist and instructor Aimee Harbin. The morning will conclude with a cupcake reception. The children’s work will be displayed during the wet paint sale and reception Saturday evening at The Charleston House Gallery (see below). The cost to participate is $6.00 per child for supplies.
6:00 to 9:00 p.m. -Wet Paint Sale and Artists’ Reception
Art lovers are invited to meet the participating artists, view and purchase the work they’ve completed during the event. The reception and sale will take place at The Charleston House Gallery and is free to the public.
