Tomorrow will be the first of three superintendent candidate interviews. Dr. Susan Cole, a University of Alabama graduate will be the first of the three interviewees. Below is the full release from the Town of Pike Road. Remember, a public reception will be from 4:30 – 5:30 and the public is invited to listen to the interviews. We hope to see you there.

PIKE ROAD BOARD OF EDUCATION TO INTERVIEW FIRST SUPERINTENDENT CANDIDATE FEBRUARY 13
The Pike Road School Board will interview the first of three candidates for the position of school superintendent on Thursday, February 13, 2014. A full day is planned for the candidate, who will also have the opportunity to meet members of the community and learn about the history and vision of the Town of Pike Road. A public reception will be held from 4:30 to 5:30 PM at Pike Road Town Hall. The public is also invited to listen to the public interview of the candidate, which will begin at 6:00 PM in the council chamber at Town Hall.
The first interview will be with Dr. Susan Cole, who earned her doctorate in educational leadership from the University of Alabama and retired from public education in Calhoun, Ga. Dr. Cole most recently served as the director of human resources for Gordon County Schools in Calhoun and as the Title IIA coordinator for the public system in Calhoun. In this role, she oversaw the recruitment, training and retention of teachers who were rated “highly qualified” to assure high quality teaching would serve as a primary factor to achieve high student achievement. In her application for the Pike Road position, Dr. Cole expressed her commitment to every student to assure he or she receives a relevant, rigorous and results-based education through teacher/staff expertise and nurturing relationships in a safe and secure environment. Dr. Cole’s administrative experience includes several principal assignments as well as the director of the Celebration School in Celebration, Fla.
