A ribbon-cutting will be held at 11 a.m. Dec. 14 for the new Veterans Administration clinic at 8105 Chantilly Parkway in east Montgomery County.

The location will serve as complementary center to the current Perry Hill Road location, said Sonya Goines, public affairs officer for the Central Alabama Veterans Health Care System (CAVHCS).

There will be an open house after the ribbon cutting, Goines said. The clinic is located just east of the Wal-Mart and Office Depot on Chantilly Parkway.

The Chantilly location will offer primary care, geriatric primary care, radiology, lab services, a pharmacy, optometry services, prosthetics and mental health assistance. There also will be examination rooms and a canteen.

The new $35 million center is about 10 miles from the Perry Hill Road location. The new facility will have state of the art equipment and will offer services for women. “The location will also have a women’s clinic and the only 3-D mammography machine in Montgomery,” Goines said.

Urgent or emergency care will not be provided at the new site, Goines added. The emergency department will remain at the Perry Hill Road location, she said.
