Town of Pike Road

What began as a community with a little more than 300 people has now grown into a prosperous and thriving town of more than 10,000. According to U.S. Census figures, the Town of Pike Road grew by more than 1,600% during the first decade of the 21st century. This makes the municipality the fastest growing in the state of Alabama. This growth continues to impact economic development throughout the River Region.

From the beginning, careful planning with an emphasis on preserving character has been a fundamental component to the growth of Pike Road. This unique municipal model is built on great partnerships, strong volunteers, a dedicated staff and an engaged group of residents.

“As long as we focus on our people, the Town of Pike Road will continue to be a great place to live, regardless of our size. The greatest vote of confidence that a town can receive is when individuals choose to locate their families in your area. As we continue to emphasize education and activities that bring our community together in a fun and safe environment, then we will continue to grow. If you want to live in a community where people emphasize hospitality and truly live the motto, ‘Welcome Home,’ then the Town of Pike Road is the place for you.”

– Pike Road Mayor Gordon Stone

Pike Road Education

Investing in the next generation of leaders is an effort paramount to the success and future of Pike Road. The Pike Road School District is supported by individuals living in all 70+ Pike Road neighborhoods, making education a true community effort.

The Pike Road School District, which opened in 2015, is the hub of all community activity and is one of the reasons that the town’s growth has exploded.

The Waters is fortunate enough to have one of Pike Road’s schools within walking distance of the community! If you’re looking for a conveniently located home near Pike Road Elementary School, then The Waters is right where you need to be. One of our most popular amenities, the Trail to Education, is a link between home & school. Residents can walk, bike or golf cart elementary school students to school – It’s the best “car pool” line around! The Pike Road Intermediate, Junior High and High School campuses are all within 10 minutes of The Waters community.
