Summer Fun 2019

08/16

summer recap/back to schoolAs we near the end of summer and prepare to go back to school, we want to reflect on a wonderful season and look ahead to the new season that is to come.

Our Kids Club for residents of The Waters was a huge hit! We will officially say farewell to summer on Saturday, August 17, with our huge Back to School Bash at Lucas Point Pool leading up to the first day of school for Pike Road School students.

Summer with the Kids Club

Our Kids Club was designed and planned as an amenity for resident families with children and grandchildren. We had many activities for all ages planned throughout the summer, and there were a few highlights that really stood out. (See photos from some of the events here!)

Ice cream night actually turned into Nancy’s Ice Night, but everyone was happy with that change. More than 100 neighbors came out, and many stayed for a few hours talking, catching up with friends, and playing at The Square. It was a fun event that captured the essence of summer and encouraged people to come out, meet new neighbors, and see old friends.

Sand Art at the Lucas Point Pavilion was also a really fun event that the kids loved. We had about 50 kids participate, which was a great number to try out this engaging, creative activity.

The best word to describe our Dive in Movie is, “Awesome!” It was the first time we hosted a movie event in the pool, and all the neighbors really enjoyed it. It just doesn’t get much better than watching a movie in the pool, in the dark, under the stars during the summer.

Back to School with Pike Road Schools

It’s a big year for Pike Road Schools (PRS). This fall, our community’s schools will welcome the first class of seniors, serving Pre-K through 12th grade for the first time. This is a huge milestone, and we are so proud of the growth in our school system. Pike Road Schools were founded in 2015 to serve the 70 neighborhoods in Pike Road.

The academic and extracurricular opportunities offered by PRS continues to expand as well. This year the Pike Road Band will perform their first marching halftime show with more than 80 members on the field.

Thank you to all of our neighbors from The Waters who participated in our Kids Club! It’s been a wonderful summer, and we wish all students, teachers, and administrators well for the fall semester at Pike Road Schools!
