The Education Service Committee has participated In initial programming meetings with architects, engineers and program management and given significant input into the layout of the school facility to be constructed off Okfuski Trail. Utilizing this input, educational design standards and best practices, the school
schematic design has been completed and is moving Into the design development (preliminary design) phase. The school project will be ready to go out for bid this summer, with an early fall construction start anticipated. Ten of the 25 original applicants for the Pike Road School Board have been selected to undergo training in preparation for the appointment of the five-member board this summer. Dr. Suzanne Freeman, education consultant and former superintendent of Trussville City Schools, will lead the training, which will focus on the statutory roles of school board members.
Separation negotiations continue with the Montgomery Public Schools. Watch for updates via our electronic communication media as well as in the next quarterly newsletter.
